Any screens with holes need to be replaced as these are very popular entry points for pests.

prepare your yard

Your yard is another potential breeding ground for pests. By cleaning it up, and making some minor adjustments here and there, you can significantly reduce the number of pest’s present.

Some yard care tips include:

  • Clear away all debris (dead leaves, twigs, branches, etc.) from your lawn
  • Trim shrubs and trees so that they are no less than 12 inches away from your home
  • Eliminate standing water sources from your yard
  • Keep woodpiles away from your home

control moisture

Many pests are attracted to moisture. Because of this, you want to be sure to take care of any leaks right away. From faucet leaks to pipe leaks, to a hose that constantly drips, even the smallest pool of water is plenty big enough to attract summertime pests.
